Introduction

European Spinal Cord Injury Federation (ESCIF) respect your privacy and we realise our responsibility towards your personal data you share with us. We act as a “controller” for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This notice explains how we use information about you and how we protect your privacy. 

What personal data do we collect?

Use of the personal data on our websites (www.escif.org) will only arise in connection with the services you requested (e.g. Newsletter subscription, Congress registration). If we use your personal information for research and analysis, we will always keep you anonymous unless you have agreed that your personal information can be used for that research. The data will be deleted as soon as it is assumed to be of no further use.

Regarding the service you request we may use following data:

  • Official position
  • Postal address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Fax
  • Organisation membership
  • Wheelchair type
  • Special dietary needs
  • Allergies
  • Needs for a mobile lift
  • Needs for a special bathroom equipment

These data are collected during your registration for ESCIF Congress or when you opt-in for ESCIF Newsletter. 

ESCIF Congresses are organised together with our member organisations, therefore the co-organisator of each congress is the third party which ESCIF share your personal data with. The co-organisators in turn may share some of your information with others to be able plan, carry out and evaluate the congress. For example, they might need to share your name, dietary needs or phone number with the hotel to be able to book your stay there.
